Research Paper : The Effect on the Spa Selection Attribute of the Spa Using Motive

Abstract
Purpose
This study classified and systematized the motives of using a spa by its users and their selection attributes and examined the selection factors in accordance with the motives for use. Methods: As for the motives for using a spa, four factors were included such as novelty, escape from daily life, healthiness and amity, while as for the spa selection attributes, there were six factors such as diversity, convenience, cost, friendliness, technical expertise and comfortableness. The study selected 320 spa users from 10 spas across the nation and investigated their spa selection attributes in relation to the motives of a spa using. Results/Conclusion: The results showed that the customers focusing on the healthiness factor regarded diversity, convenience, cost, friendliness and comfortableness factors of spa except for technical expertise, whereas the customers focusing on escape from daily life factors thought of the convenience factor as the most important selection attribute. In addition, it has been found that the customers focusing on the amity factor were not affected by the attributes of spas, while those focusing on the novelty factor considered the diversity factor as the most important.
