Recearch Paper : A Study on Beauty Salon Users` Perception of Beauty Tourism and Activation Plans

Abstract
The purpose of this study is development is to build the foundation for design and tourism industries beyond the hygienic aspect for the beauty industry. For this, a survey was carried out on 173 beauty shop users living in each city and province of Korea for 30 days from April 1 to April 30, 2010. The SPSS v. 12.0 statistical package program was used to make a frequency analysis of, crosstabulation analysis of, and independent sample t-test of 221 valid questionnaires. Participants have experienced spa and foot reflexology as part of mutual financing association, family and tourism programs in Japan, China and of excellent beauty tourism program technology with its beautiful scenery. The beauty tourism has been perceived as tourism and spa to enjoy their vacation. The beauty tourism, which they are most interested in, was a massage, and they were aware of the need to expand facilities for the activation of beauty tourism in the government and local governments. They saw the most important field for the activation of beauty tourism as the specialty and beauty industry policies, and they thought the beauty tourism is helpful in economic development. The reason why it isn``t activated in Korea was that they had an understanding as a lack of its publicity. The most therapies for the activation of beauty tourism in Korea were spa and scalp hair treatment, and important details for were hygienic conditions and kindness.
