Research Paper : A Study on Expressive and Aesthetical Characteristics of Abstract Expressionism in Nailart

Abstract
Self-expressive Nailart as a social symbol and psychological method to express one`s desire and individuality has a great aesthetic value as individual`s diversified tastes and internal desire in plastic art. It will provide a theoretical basis to establish a form position of nail art as one field of art. Fashion and beauty fields which receive much recognition as unique world of art as the extention of the body and one`s symbolized cultural language have repeated growth while they are given their own role and function. This study analyzes the aesthetics and the characteristics of Abstract Expressionism in Nailart. The results are as follow. First, ``Playful Borrow`` is used mainly themes of work in formulationg ideas which is fairy tale story, animation, the movie hero and artistic style. Arrangement of instintive and sensuous, heterogeneity of works make you smile and stimulate viewer`s imagination. It`s related with the technique of nail art. Second, ``Body extension`` is the most remarkable features in Nailart works It means to break with a prevalent simple idea based on a stereo type on Nailart. Various objects and 3-dimensional characters reproduct to extend body space and to combine segmentalized and shared body. Third, ``Intertextuality`` in Nailart make the best use of expansion representation of materials and the articulation of experimental works. It contribute to creative design and to interprete various meanings ``difference`` which come from decentralized and disaggerated objects. Nailart reflects aesthetic code of the times well. Interaction between physical body and psychological theraphy overcome the limitation of conventional expression materials and reflect the cultural imaginative.
