Research Paper : Effect of Improvement of Perm Hair using Autolysate of Lugworm (Marplysa sanauinea)
Sun Sim Lee, Hye Sook Kim, Sang Mo Kang
Abstract
Protease gained from Lugworm (Marphysa sanguinea), with which we have observed the influence on hair. After having dyed hair deactivated with Protease , we found no any changes of the hair thickness. However, as time goes by after having dyed hair deactivated with Crude Protease we could find the dyed hair getting thinner and reduced the tensile strength. Through optical microscope we could see the fact that the cuticle and the stain from the latter are getting removed. Also the hair surface experiment by SEM showed that latter hair texture got smoother than the former. It showed that the hair losing the elasticity on account of the frequent perm would have tendency to be shrunk and coarse. But with the hair applied by lugwom autolysate for 10 minutes and washed away we could see the hair maintain the balance of wave compared the former. The another experiment of hair applied by lugwom autolysate for 10 minutes and without being washed away we could see the hair maintain the more balance of wave than the former. Judging from the elasticity the latter hair was shorter than the former one. Generally the permed hair is likely to lose the power of maintaining the good quality because of the frequent perm. In contrast lugwom autolysate has powerful potential material as natural hair cosmetic so as to overcome the defect of lugwom.
