Research Paper : A Effects of MTS and Cryogen-iontoporesis Treatment using Placental Extracts on Aging Skin in Korean Middle-aged Women |

Abstract |
Placental extract has been used as certain types of medical intervention in Asian countries, whereas experimental evidence supporting its therapeutic effects and mechanisms has yet to be fully demonstrated. Cryogen-iontoporesis and micro needle therapy system (MTS) are currently available for the treatment of aging skin. Especially, MTS is a simple technique that shows immediate improvements. This study was to compare the effects of cryogen-iontoporesis and MTS on improvement of aging skin. The study subjects were 28 middle-aged women with age 40~50`s (control group, n=13; MTS group, n=15). Control group was offered cryogen-iontoporesis treatment and MTS group was treated with MTS (once a week for total 8 times). After 8 weeks, moisture and elastin were significantly increased in control group (p<0.05). In MTS group, moisture and elastin were significantly increased, and wrinkle and pigmentation were significantly decreased (p<0.05). When compared to the control group, subjects in MTS group show significant improvements in wrinkle and pigmentation (p<0.05). These result indicated that MTS and placental extract treatment together, which will be effectively considered for skin aging improvement program in the future for middle-aged women. |
