Research Paper : Learning of College Students Majoring in Beauty

Abstract
This study is action research which approached qualitatively in order to improve teaching through subgroup learning about hair care subject of college students majoring in Beauty in the Beauty college. In learning behaviors of college students majoring in beauty treatment, learning allomerism was shown in the case of traditional lecture methods. In this study, student-centered group learning and different subgroups were used to make an cooperative learning environments. Also, both training for teaching and quiz activity of subgroups were made to foster individualized education and better motivation. As a result of learner-centered teaching-learning method, there was little difference of academic achievements between competitive learning model and individualized learning model. Besides, nobody was isolated from the classes and most of the students achieved learning outcome regardless of learning ability. Under cooperative teaching and learning activity, students showed better concentration and confidence as well as affective effectiveness between peers. Therefore, student-centered group learning was functioned as an effective teaching-learning method for beauty treatment majors. The researcher of this study participated in the classes as an instructor and observer to interact with the students. This kind of action research should be the motive of communion between instructor and learners.
