Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of achievement motivation of hairdressers - emotional, psychological factors - on their job satisfaction, and to provide basic data to improve job satisfaction of hairdressers. As a result of the analysis, achievement motivations of hairdressers were classified into four factors of hope, sense of purpose, passion and spirit of adventure, while their job satisfactions were into four factors of vocational consciousness, human relations, job specifications and working environment. Achievement motivation of hairdressers was assessed to have significant influence on their job satisfaction. Vocational consciousness of job satisfaction factors was positively influenced by hope - a factor of achievement motivation. The study also found that human relations received apositive influence from spirit of adventure and a negative influence from sense of purpose. In the meanwhile, the study found that job specifications received a positive influence from hope and spirit of adventure, whereas working environment received a positive influence from hope, sense of purpose and spirit of adventure. Therefore, the study believes that the relevant businesses should seek to develop and operate a diverse range of programs to improve achievement motivation of hairdressers with a view to enhancing their job satisfaction level.
