Abstract

Sensitive skin is a complex skin problem caused by genetic, personal, environmental, occupational, or racial factors. Compared to normal skin, the modulating or immune function is extremely low so that the skin over-responds to even little stimulation. To utilize Spirulina platensis, which is known to be effective in allergic reaction and anti-inflammatory activity/anti-oxidant activities in the manufacturing of cosmetics, this study attempted to analyze the improvement of skin conditions and search for an effective skin care plan for reddish and sensitive skin after manufacturing a cream containing Spirulina platensis extract and applying it to the face of the patients with reddish or sensitive skin.
