A Study of Acknowledgement and Satisfaction of the Korean Beauty Market of Foreign Visitors to Korea - Comparison of China, Japan and Western countries -

Abstract
As attention to K-Beauty has recently been highly paid to, foreigners show higher interest in new experience of beauty tourism in Korea. Thus, in this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting 611 foreigners toward the degree of importance of service and satisfaction in general characteristic, selection of experience, pattern, etc. of beauty tourism, dividing into three groups of China, Japan and Western European countries, with the aim of this study to complement the shortage of studies on degree of interest in beauty tourism of foreigners from Western European countries against the studies centrally on Asian country up to now. Summarized result of this study is as the following. First, recommendation of acquaintance is the most important factor to select beauty tourism program. Second, they like to enjoy traveling and shopping together with beauty experience tour. Third, even though beauty experience program is important but also it needs to develop homecare products what can be easily purchased and conveniently used. Fourth, effort should be made for publicizing beauty market of Korea with active marketing activity focusing on tourists from Western countries. Fifth, more attention on kind service and after-sale service by medical team and estheticians will increase interest of foreign visitors. To this cause, we recommend active buzz marketing along with practice of customized promotion considering influence factors for selection of beauty tourism per countries. When we try to practice to accomplish above mentioned features, it is expected much brighter future for Korea beauty industry and tourism.
