Abstract |
The study is a comprehensive analysis of the research result on the basis of preceding papers conducted from 2000 to 2016 related to the effect of manual therapy on obese care. In suggesting the overall effect size value for variables related to the effect of the manual therapy on obese care, there is no homogeneity as a result of homogeneity verification. Therefore, we calculated modified average effect sizes and suggested a random model as an adopted value. The suggested effect size is equivalent to the medium effect size. The obesity controlled variable group in the variable group related to the effect selected by the study selected BMI, WHR, total weight without fat, body weight, fat mass, and body fat percentage, and they are equivalent to the middle effect size based on the effect size suggested by Cohen. All variables except body water showed a significant effect in the lower variable effect size and WHR demonstrated to have the biggest effect size, while showing relatively the low effect size in body weight and total weight without fat. The blood lipid regulation variable group selected HDL-C, LDL-C, TC, and TG, which are equivalent to the middle effect sized based on the effect size suggested by Cohen. All variables appear to have a significant effect when examining lower variable effect size, while LDL-C has the biggest effect size, and TG and TC seem to demonstrate a small effect size. |
