Study on the Skin Conditon Improvement Effect by application of each different length of Microneedle Therapy System (MTS)
Chunghwa Chin, Sangran Lim
Abstract
This study applied MTS (Microneedle Therapy System) to 36 middle-aged women in their 40s-50s for six weeks in total to examine whether there was any difference in skin-improving efficacy through its application to the skin by each length of 0.25 mm, 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm. The findings are as follows. 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm showed significant changes in pigmentation (p=0.04) and skin elasticity (p=0.00). 1.5 mm showed significant changes in pores (p=0.02), pigmentation (p=0.00), and skin elasticity (p=0.00). 2.0 mm showed significant changes in all sectors of pores (p=0.01), wrinkles (p=0.03), pigmentation (p=0.01), skin elasticity (p=0.00). While 0.25 mm is a widely-used microneedle, this study was not able to get any significant result though there was change in mean values before and after the experiment. This study may have the most significant implications for that it examined MTS`s efficacy so far known by subdividing its length.
Key Words: Microneedle Therapy System, Pigmentation, pore, Skin elasticity, Wrinkle
