Abstract |
This study was conducted to investigate antioxidant activity, tyrosinase inhibitory activity, and anti inflammatory activity of 30, 50, 70, and 90 % ethanol extracts of Hericium erinaceum. In DPPH assay, 90 % ethanol extract showed the highest inhibition rate of 74.61 % (IC50 414.87 ppm) and the antioxidative activity of ABTS showed more than 80 % of active oxygen inhibition in ethanol extracts of 30, 50, 70 and 90 % (5000-10000 ppm). The IC50 value of the 90 % ethanol extract was the highest at 252.01 ppm but there was no significant difference from the 70 % ethanol extract (IC50 258.81 ppm). Tyrosinase inhibition activity was the highest in ethanol extracts of 90 % (inhibition rate 74.27 %, IC50 91.25 ppm), followed by 70 % ethanol extract(156.75 ppm), 50 % ethanol extract(314.06 ppm) and 30 % ethanol extract(603.95 ppm). As a result of measuring the decrease rate of NO production in the ethanol extract of Hericium erinaceum, 90 % ethanol extract showed 94.52 % NO production decreasing rate, and 30, 50 and 70 % ethanol extract showed about 50 % decrease in NO production. The results showed that 90 % ethanol extracts showed the best antioxidant activity, tyrosinase inhibitory activity and anti inflammatory activity. |
