Preparation and Sensory Evaluation of Kaolin Color Foundation for Atopy
Min-jung Kim, Jeong-hee Kim
Most cosmetics for atopic skin include skin-care products such as lotion, emulsion, and body cream. It has not been sufficient developing therapy color cosmetics for atopy. The color foundation on the market is generally contained yellow, red, and black iron oxide with white powders, which can cause atopic skin irritation. For the development of atopy color foundation, we have suggested replacing synthetic pigment and titanium dioxide with kaolin as the natural ingredient. We prepared kaolin cream foundations for atopy and researched sensory evaluation using questionnaire. As a result, Coloration values of kaolin color foundations are similar to commercial foundation containing synthesis dye. This confirmed the possibility of use as a coloring material as in the case of a commercially available foundation. Moreover, kaolin color foundations were estimated the products' usability and practicality highly.
