Abstract |
Employment in modern society is one of very important social issues and young job applicants including undergraduates are exposed to job search stress due to difficulties in job application and employment when they look for a job. This self-administered survey targeting university students majoring in skin and cosmetology in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do from January to March 2018. The subjects were 406 university students (275 satisfied group and 127 unsatisfied group) including seniors or graduates from universities in the past two years. We measured physical and psychological stress, visual analogue scale (VAS) and job-seeking stress. In unsatisfied group, physical and psychological stress and VAS were significantly higher than satisfied group. Also, scores of personality stress, anxious stress, family environment stress, employment market environment stress, job ability stress and total jobseeking stress were significantly high. After adjustment of confounders, the job-seeking stress score was significantly high in unsatisfied group. The results suggest that measures to enhance the satisfaction of major are urgently required for university students majoring in skin cosmetology, and it is expected to reduce job-seeking stress. |
