Effects of Peptide Pre-treatment According to Different Concentrations on the Recovery of Hair Loss in Case of Henna Dyeing
Minhwa Lee, Myung-sun Lee
Abstract
Various colors are used for expression individualities and strong points and hiding weak points, thereby producing images. The consumption of color treatment is on the rise and a variety of color products are released. Chemical hair treatment causes hair loss, porosity hair, cuticle layer damage, and protein release from hairs. Analysis of amino acid suggested that adding protective ingredients into hairs when chemical treatment is conducted due to diminishing amounts of amino acids. Consumers who experienced hair loss were interested in natural ingredients and used Henna. Several studies confirmed that chemicals are added before Henna products are distributed to the market. Therefore, it can not be solely used to reduce hair loss. Although Henna dyeing is reported to relieve hair loss compared to an ordinary dyeing, repeated treatments can trigger severe hair loss and there is no distinction between color Henna and ordinary dyeing. This study focused on peptide given the fact that it is important to explore a better solution for Henna dyeing and preventing hair loss. In the recent cosmetic beauty industry, peptide, amino acid polymers, gains increasing attentions due to excellent functions such as anti-inflammation and prevention of cell-proliferation wrinkles and anti-aging. Many studies on this ingredients are conducted in the cosmetic medicine and cosmetics. This study aims to examine the assessment of improving the degree of hair loss after applying only Henna and using peptide pre-treatment as well as texture change and use results as basic data for further studies.
