Correlation between the Liberal Arts and Major Satisfaction in Beauty Department Students

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the perceived liberal arts on major satisfaction in students majoring in beauty and investigate a difference in the liberal arts and major satisfaction according to general characteristics. Data collection for an empirical study was conducted with students of the beauty department in universities located in Gangwon, Chungcheong, and Jeonbuk. A total of 370 questionnaires were used for analysis. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis, and one-way ANOVA were used to test study hypotheses. The results were as follows. First, the liberal arts(curriculum and liberal arts education) had a significant effect on major satisfaction(curriculum satisfaction and department satisfaction). Second, a difference in the liberal arts(liberal arts curriculum and liberal arts education) was high in the liberal arts education according to sex(14.251, p<0.001) and the liberal arts curriculum according to a major(13.616, p<0.001) and a university year(29.250, p<0.001). The results of this study will contribute to suggesting the direction and be used as basic information to operate the liberal arts in the beauty department of universities.
