Abstract |
Application of rosa hybrid flower extract as the natural dye will be able to further produce the development of a hair color cosmetics. In this study, contemporary hair mascaras were prepared using rosa hybrid flower extracts and the formulations were evaluated the stability, safety, and usability. For stability evaluation, centrifugation test, heat and cool cycling, the variation of viscosity and pH measurement for 8 weeks. The patch test was performed to evaluate the occurrence of erythema on the skin(patch area) according to the criteria of ICDRG after applying the hair mascara. The satisfaction values of actual usage(cosmetic color, spreadability, applicability, coloration on the hair, persistence) were determined by a 5-point Likert scale. As the results of the evaluation, the prepared hair mascaras were stable on the stability of physical and chemical characteristics. There was no skin reaction to hair mascaras containing rosa hybrid flower extract. On the other hand, it was observed that 1 volunteer had shown a doubtful reaction(+/-) at the site of control (hair mascara containing 100% carbon black) application. The sample C(30% carbon black and 70% rosa hybrid flower extract) is the highest satisfaction on the sensory test. As a prominent finding, contemporary hair mascara containing 70% rosa hybrid flower extract is the most promising and it can be aimed commercialization. |
