Analysis of Cosmetic Use and Starting Period of Generation Z, Female High School Students in Seoul -Focusing on functional and makeup cosmetics

Abstract
This study conducted a survey on when to start using the detailed cosmetics of generation Z female high school students who are located as new consumers in the Korea cosmetics market. In particular, after classifying types of cosmetics as makeup and functional cosmetics, the purpose was to understand when to start using. The study conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey of 350 high school girls in Seoul, which was finally used for the analysis of 331 copies. The results are as follows. First, the usage rate of cosmetics by subject increased. It was found that about 85.0% use sunscreen, and more than half use whitening cosmetics and hair dyes. For makeup cosmetics, 7 out of 10 used it on average. Second, subject started to use cosmetics from the time they were generally in middle school. In particular, half of the respondents used sunscreen and lip tint from the elementary school or before. Third, the trend of makeup cosmetics has changed over time. This data on the use and timing of start of use of generation Z cosmetics is considered to be a good basis for effective marketing strategy of the cosmetics industry.
