A Statistical Study on Hair Loss and the Actual Conditions of Its Care

Abstract
The study aims to investigate correlational variables which influence hair loss and provide the actual condition of management of the people losing hair and basic data to understand the effect of management. Summarizing the result, most of the people losing hair had oily scalps and relatively hard scalps around the area where hair was falling out and the degree of hair loss was greater in men, the older, and the people having oily and sensitive scalps and oily dandruff. Most of the people losing hair acknowledged hair loss to be caused by ``a genetic factor`` and ``mental stress``. Among the people losing hair, 55.2% men and 48.2% women showed family history, and the most related family member with a genetic factor of hair loss was father. Mental factor were common interpersonal relationship and work. Most of the people losing hair used general shampoos and used them once a day, but many of them stimulated their scalps by drying their hair in the wrong way. They preferred home remedies to professional treatment for their hair loss.
