Abstract
It is important to examine the hair through the morphological data related to the hair cycle in terms of the clinical judgment of hair loss. In this aspect, this study a microscopic inspection to analyze the morphological characteristics of hair root part during the telogen phase by publicly obtaining the hair from ordinary people and those with alopecia, it has been observed that the common characteristics of the group of ordinary people and that of people with alopecia classified as the hair root during the telogen phase were to have the form of club hair. The group of ordinary people had a large amount of fat tissues and they were long, and it was impossible to distinguish the outer root sheath and inner root sheath, and the remaining fibrous tissues were transparent. Fat tissues were barely observed from the group of people with alopecia and the form of hair root in this telogen phase has been considered as the results of the progress of the phenomenon of hair`s becoming smaller due to hair loss. It has been believed that the forms of hair root explained above would be the standard of naked-eye inspection distinguishing the hair root during the telogen phase. Meanwhile, the data obtained would be helpful in identifying the anagen effluvium and their actual conditions by the telogen effluvium and cytotoxic drugs.
