| Abstract |
|
Cosmetics should be inspected through the absolute safety evaluation, and then they are marketable. However, the useable period should be marked on functional cosmetics containing some specific substances noticed by Food and Drug Administration, and most items only provide information about the date of manufacturing, and thus the experiment and the survey on harmful microbes proliferating after opening of container and during use of it are very feeble. Especially, in case of lip cosmetic, it is different from basic cosmetic, and it will be not used up itself but it is useable together with various items, and thus its usable period is longer than other cosmetics. Despite that microbes can inflow into human mouth, it is a reality that consumers cannot get any information about the useable period of lip cosmetic. In this study, in order to measure the contamination of lip cosmetic, an experiment had been done by dividing the useable period and type. As a result of theexperiment, among lip cosmetics, microbes at the lipstick used for 6 months have increased 1.7 times more than that used for 3 months, and in case of lipgloss, 36.6 times more microbes are detected at 6 months used lipgloss than 3 months used one. As shown above, in accordance with the useable period and type of lip cosmetics, microbes increase and the situation also is serious, and thus the useable period should be marked at the cosmetic container and description paper, furthermore the method for the use should be marked in detail, and thus the skin problem by microbial contamination should be prevented. |
