Research Paper : Study on Safety and Improvement of Skin Condition of Oriental Herbal Cosmetics Containing the Cuscuta Japonica Choisy

Abstract
This research is written to study safety and improvement of skin condition of C. japonica Choisy when used as the ingredient of pack was tested. The C. japonica Choisy sample was prepared as the extract of water and ethanol C. japonica Choisy is seed of vine characteristic plant that is in the family of the bindweed. Problems such as a change of color and separation of phase were not discovered in sun-lamp test. As the result of the clinical demostration of C. japonica Choisy water extract contained pack, the trivial change in skin`s pH and the moisturizing effect in proportion to the number of times using the pack were observed. In the survey of the pack containing C. japonica Choisy water extract, parts of whitening, moisturizing and purchasing desire scored high, however, the parts of color, texture, and scent need to be improved. Furthermore, by the result of the patch test, it was showed that there was no stimulus on skin when using the pack containing C. japonica Choisy water extract, which proves the safety of using C. japonica Choisy as the ingredient of the cosmeceutical activity. According to all the test results that have been given, it is possible that the extract of C. japonica Choisy can be used as a new natural material of oriental herbal cosmetics.
