Abstract |
For the purpose, this researcher surveyed 204 students from high schools located in daegu, kyungsangbukdo who were working on beauty-related studies. Data obtained were statistically processed using SPSS (ver 10.0), and verified using t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Most of the subjects were 18 years old. 94.6% of the subjects were female and the remainder 5.4% was male. Most of the subjects responded that they were most interested in `make-up` among beauty-related studies. Out of the subjects, those who were satisfied with their appearance were similar in number to those who were neither positive nor negative about what they looked. The students were most interested in the body shape, followed by face. All of the students had more than usual interest in making better their looking. This was supported by the fact that each of mean values for the students` satisfaction about their face and the upper, lower and whole part of their body was higher than the middle value, 3.0. This result may be attributed to current trends that students value their own unique personality. Such interest is not significantly correlated with students` allowance money level, average family income per month, gender and school types. It is also not related to students` physical satisfaction. Consequently, high school students are generally satisfied with their physical shapes and considerably much interested in making their appearances look better. |
