Research Paper : A Study on the Business Performance According to Employees` Characteristics in Beauty Salon -Focused on Small Beauty Salons Under 5 Employees-

Abstract
The beauty industry was worth about 4.586 trillion won in 2007 as a new growth industry rapidly, in recent, grown by wellbeing and sensitive consumption, showing a positive growth of 19 percent for 3years. Even with the superficial growth, the problems of beauty industry often are also, however, raised, and given characteristics of beauty services, which interaction with employees and customers is inevitable, a study on the employees characteristics is important. As a result, this study aimed at dividing their characteristics into preference, expertise and devotion to their company to look for important employees characteristic factors, and inquiring into the effect of comparative analysis according to employees characteristics and their characteristics on the business performance of small beauty salons to offer information required to the management of employees and the operation of small beauty salons. The SPSS v. 12.0 was applied to analyze data of this study and for the analysis method, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, Cronbach`a calculation, independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA were carried out. For post-hoc test, scheffe test and multiple regression analysis were carried out. The Likert 5-point Scale was used to analyze the questionnaires of total 289 copies on employers of small beauty salons under 5 employees out of domestic beauty salons. The major contents of this study consist of the concept of beauty services and the current state of beauty industry, the preceding studies on the employees characteristics, and the research design and employees characteristics-related analysis. This study has shown that the employees characteristics have an effect on the business performance of small beauty salons. In particular, the devotion to their company among employees characteristics was an important factor that affects business, finance and satisfaction performance of small beauty salons. Consequently, through this result, the beauty salons should make an efforts to inspire the devotion to their company of heart that cherishes and loves its organization, and strive for employees` growth and development, confidence in them and their job satisfaction. Above all, they should think and pay attention on employees` part, and prepare ways for their management affordable the reality of each small salons.
