Abstract
In skin, dermal fibroblasts are a primary center of organization of dermis. Decrease of dermal fibroblasts through DNA damage by UV, oxidative stress and chemicals induces disorder of skin structure and homeostasis. Therefore, DNA damage protection and evasion are important in cosmetics. Resveratrol (trans-3, 4`, 5-trihydroxystilbene) is a polyphenol occurred naturally in grape and various medicinal plants. Although it has been shown that resveratrol decreases reactive oxygen species (ROS) by direct and indirect mechanism and increases the DNA repair activity, its detailed molecular mechanism has not been understood, thoroughly. Here we show that resveratrol plays a critical role in activation of the DNA repair activity by inducing GADD45
Key Words: Human dermal fibroblast, Resveratrol, DNA repair, Microarray, GADD45 alpha
