Abstract |
Lip balms for lip care were made from plant extracts. Components of Chamaecyparis obtusa, Forsythia viridissima L., Morus alba L., green tea leaves, and dandelion studied for skin care were extracted by olive oil. The addition of other natural substances was also minimized to experimentally compare the efficacy of each component mixed by beeswax and olive oil. 20 subjects` moisture status and skin roughness were improved after using plant extracts for two weeks, which the effect of lip balms made by Chamaecyparis obtusa was relatively excellent. Visual assessment showed that redness was relieved and natural lip balms of all components softened the surface of lips after application. Usability assessment on 100 makeup and beauty professionals showed that they had a low satisfaction with the color of lip balms with green tea leaves and dandelion components, and they had a high satisfaction with the fragrance and color of lip balms with Chamaecyparis obtusa and Forsythia viridissima L components. These results suggested that plant extracts, which have been studied as cosmetic ingredients, could be used as the ingredients of lip balms and the relative standard of selection. Consequently, various studies for lip balms, which the use of components is important, will have to be carried in the future by creating the possibility of body absorption and the surface of stable lips. |
