Effect of CGT on Atopic Dermatitis in DNCB-Induced NC/Nga Mouse

Abstract
In this study, we investigated the effect of CGT on attenuation of the development of atopic dermatitis in NC/Nga mice by evaluating the cytokine level in serum, the IgE level in serum, the mRNA expression of cytokine, and the skin severity. We have come to the following conclusion. CGT led to a significant decrease in the skin severity score as compared to control group. The levels of histamine, IL-4, IL-5, IL-13 in serum of the CGT treated group were inhibited 57%, 73%, 38% and 43%. Also, the mRNA expressions of IL-4, Il-5 and IL-13 in spleen were decreased to 39%, 50% and 49%. CGT treated group showed decrease in the expression of IgE by 56% respectively. level of IgE in serum were decrease to 56%. These results indicate that CGT inhibits the pathogenic development of atopic dermatitis in NC/Nga mice. These results may indicate that CGT attenuates the development of atopic dermatitis-like lesions by lowering inflammatory cytokine levels, and that it is valuable in drug development for the treatment of atopic dermatitis.
