Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among social exchange relationships (leader-member exchange, team-member exchange and perceived organizational support), happiness and organizational effectiveness (altruism and turnover). To analyze the fitness of the research model and to test the hypotheses, the data are collected from 326 employees of beauty businesses through the administration of structured questionnaires. A structural equation analysis is performed by the AMOS package. The goodness of fit indices indicate that the fit of the model to the data is generally good. In addition, four of five hypotheses are supported by the data. The results reveal that (1) leader-member exchange and team-member exchange have positive effects on happiness, (2) happiness has positive effect on altruism, (3) happiness has negative effect on turnover. These results of this study have implications for both theory of happiness and beauty business practice. Future research direction are outlined. |
