Research Paper : The Influence of a Physical-Related Stress and Appearance Concern on Appearance Management Behavior of Middle-aged Women

Abstract

concern on the appearance management behavior of middle-aged women. The questionnaires were administered to 414 middle-aged women living in Gwang-ju city, Korea. For analysis of data, descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach`s a, regression analysis, two way ANOVA and were applied. The result were as follows. First, the middle-aged women`s physical-related stress partially influenced appearance management behavior. Second, the appearance concern significantly influenced appearance management behavior. Third, the middle-aged women`s physical-related stress significantly influenced the appearance concern. Finally, the effects that women`s physical-related stress, had on the cosmetic surgeries through the interaction with the appearance concern appeared to be partly signigicant.Appearance management behavior, Appearance concern, Middle-aged women, Physical-related stress
