A Bibliometric Approach of Research Trends in Korean and Chinese Hairdressing-related Studies
Xinxin Cai, So-hee Moon, Jae-sook Lee
Abstract
The Republic of Korea has drawn a lot of attention from Chinese people with advanced cosmetology techniques. However, it has been difficult to find studies comparatively analyzing Korean and Chinese research trends in this field. Therefore, this study investigated Korean and Chinese hairdressing-related research trends through bibliometric analysis. The results found the following: In Chinese hairdressing studies, experimental studies including effects, observation and clinical trials were the mainstream. In Korea, on the contrary, artistic aspects such as hairstyling were mostly emphasized. In the beginning, hairdressing-related studies were mostly found in China. Right now, however, they are more frequently observed in South Korea. Therefore, this study was able to review the development of the Korean hairdressing industry. It is expected it could make a large contribution to the growth and development of the cosmetology industry.
