Abstract |
Antioxidant and antityrosinase agents are becoming increasingly important in controlling skin hyper pigmentation. The aim of this study was to investigate the antioxidant and antityrosinase activities of eight plants in Liliaceae (Liriope platyphylla, Asparaguscochinchinensis, Polygonatum odoratum var. pluriflorum Ohwi for. variegatum, Y.N. Lee, Hosta longipes, Tricyrtis dilatata, Hostaplantaginea, Hemerocallis fulva, and Convallaria keiskei.). Water or ethanol extracts of their aerial parts were performed DPPH radical scavenger assay and tyrosinase inhibition assay with L-tyrosine as a substrate. Especially, ethanol extract of Hosta longipes, Hostaplantaginea, and Hemerocallis fulva showed antioxidant and antityrosinase effects. We tested the inhibitory effects on L-DOPA oxidative activity and melanogenesis by ethanol extract of them. Hosta longipes, Hosta plantaginea, and Hemerocallis fulva inhibited the L-DOPAoxidation in dose-dependantly. Moreover, Hemerocallis fulva showed inhibitory effects of melanogenesis in |
