Antioxidant, Antimicrobial and Melanogenesis Inhibition Effects of 35 species Essential Oil

Abstract
This study was designed to examine the antioxidant, whitening and antimicrobial effects of 35 species essential oils. Antioxidative ability was evaluated by bioassay using total polyphenol contents, 2,2`-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) and 2, 2- diphenyl-1-1-picrydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity. Ocimum basilicum (basil) and cymbopogon citratus (lemongrass) essential oils showed excellent total polyphenol contents 1831.8, 1202.0
