A Study on Nail Art Designs Using the Characteristics of Cartoon Images in Neo-pop Art

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest a direction for the development of unique nail art design by studying the cartoon images of neo-pop art and using them in nail art. This study analyzed the works of neo-pop artists Romero Britto, Takashi Murakami and Keith Haring. Nail art works were designed by 3D art, hand painting and stencil, using UV gel, glitter, stone, silk eyelash, etc. The study results found the followings: First, the characteristics of cartoon images were derived with simplicity, color diversity and symbolic meaning after analyzing neopop artists
