Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to examine the beauty art curriculums of four-year-course universities, which were developed by educators who nurtured beauty artists, in a bid to seek feasible ways to improve the curriculums geared toward fostering professional beauty artists. When the beauty art curriculums of the universities were analyzed, the following findings were given:. First, the number of universities that offered beauty art education was steadily on the rise, and there was an increase in the number of prospective beauty artists every year as well. Second, the curriculums of beauty art departments of universities were very diverse, but their major courses leaned toward any particular field. So various research efforts should be directed into the roles and job analysis of professional beauty artists. Third, thenumber of would-be beauty art teachers increased along with the increase in the beauty art departments. Yet the students who were in the departments became beauty art teachers just by taking an extremely small number of major courses, which could be viewed as one of problems with this field. As certified teachers who received professional education should foster prospective beauty artists in high school, new beauty art departments that offer full-fledged education should be prepared. Fourth, the appropriateness ofcurrent university curriculums should be checked on a regular basis. As discussed above, the preparation and successful operation of professional and systematic curriculums by universities that offer beauty art education are required to enhance the professionalism and quality of beauty art service and nurture professional, certified beauty artists. |
