Research Paper : The Effect of Vaccum Suction and Applied Isometric Manual Therapy on Body Composition and Serum Parameters in College Women

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of vaccum suction and applied isometric manual therapy on body composition and serum parameters in college women. The subjects of this study were healthy college women (n=21). The subjects were divided into following vaccum suction group (VS=7), applied isometric manual therapy group (AIM=7), and control group (CON=7). VS and AIM performed two times per week for 80 minutes during 8 weeks. Resting blood samples were taken before and after the 8 weeks. This study were measured body composition, and serum parameters. The results following; The body weight, body mass index (BMI), % fat, and fat-free mass (FFM) were no significant differences in the VS and AIM groups. T-C, and LDL-C were significantly increased in the VS group (p<.01). But T-C, and LDL-C were significantly decreased in the AIM group (p<.01). In conclusion, AIM program in healthy college women appears to be effective for improving T-C, and LDL-C in college women.
