| Abstract |
|
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the high school students` body perception and self-esteem on the stress and to find the relationship among factors and to provide the data base for the high school students`s protection of overweight and psychological counseling. The data was collected and analyzed from 424 high school students from 4 High Schools in Chung Cheong from September 1st 2010 to 30th 2010. For this study, the data used an independent t-test and ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were made through Duncan`s multiple range test with for windows (Version 17.0K). The results of the survey are summarized below: There is significant difference among the grade, BMI index, family overweight, health status. Also There were significant differences in dietary habits, body satisfaction, self-esteem, stress factor from students`s body perception. The BMI index and body satisfaction had a negative relation (r = -0.195, p<0.001), the dietary habits and body satisfaction had a positive relation (r = 0.200, p<0.001), the dietary habits and stress factors had a negative relation (r = -0.223, p<0.001), the body satisfaction and self-esteem had a positive relation (r = 0.350, p<0.001), the body satisfaction and stress factor had a negative relation (r = -0.350, p<0.001). There is significant difference In self-esteem (F = 11.724, p<0.001) and in stress (F = 10.043, p<0.001). |
