| The Effect of Appearance Satisfaction and Psychological Happiness According to Hair Dyeing |

| Abstract |
|
This study aimed to elucidate effects of the recent trends in dying methods and various colors, which were advanced from the conventional dying, on individual appearance satisfaction as well as thereby following psychological happiness, particularly focusing on male and female aged between 20 and 30 who reside in Daegu and Gyeongbuk region. This study conducted a survey using questionnaire and a total of 326 collected copies were used for final analysis. Regarding the general characteristics of the subjects, the majority of them were in their 20s(164, 50.3%) by age group, female(202, 62.0%) by gender, unmarried(223, 68.4%) by marital status, college graduates(130, 39.9%) by education level, and get paid above 1,500,000 and below 2,500,000 won(127, 39.0%) by monthly income. Overall, as to the age group, more people in their 20s(M=3.59) answered that the hair dyeing had a effect on internal appearance satisfaction than the 30s(M=3.32). Also, as to the external appearance satisfaction, more people in their 20s(M=3.48) answered the hair dyeing had a effect on it than the 30s(M=3.28). Among the items about the effect of hair dyeing on psychological happiness, 'I feel pleasure when my hair is getting dyed(M3.32)' indicated that it has a positive psychological impact, not only concerning the appearance. The analysis results revealed a statistically positive (+) correlation between appearance satisfaction caused by hair dying and psychological happiness. |
